Nope I'm not talking about the PC game here (even though it is a good one) but I am referring to my current game today. We played the Chaos (2 armies worth) versus the Necrons and Tyranids. It was a 2,500 point game again and we rolled the Seize ground rules with the Dawn of War setup. Between the 4 of us we picked the following objectives to be held: the Cemetary, the Chapel, the ruined Citadel, the ammo dump and the ruined green building.
Turn 1: Chaos turn was uneventful.
Necrons & Tyranids turn the Necron warriors kill 5 Beserkers.
Turn 2: Chaos turn the Obliterators kill 7 Gaunts and the Sorceror Lord summons the Horrors.
Necrons & Nids turn the Tyranid warriors kill 5 Beserkers.
Turn 3: For the Chaos turn the Terminators kill 4 Genestealers and the Sorceror Lord shoots Doom Bolt and kills 2 Gaunts. In assault the Obliterators kill 2 Lictors and the Terminators kill 6 Necron Warriors.
Necrons & Nids turn the Hive Tyrant kills a Beserker. In assault the Obliterators kill a Lictor, the Terminators kill 4 Necron Warriors and the Beserkers kill 2 Hormagaunts. The Raveners and the Hormagaunts kill 4 Beserkers collectively.
Turn 4: Chaos turn the Terminators kill 2 Genestealers and the Obliterators kill 9 Gaunts. In assault the Flayed ones kill a Chaos Marine, the Hormagaunts kill a Beserker and the Beserker kills a Hormagaunt.
Necrons & Nids turn the Necron Warriors kill 2 Obliterators and the Tyranid Warriors kill 2 Terminators. In assault the Obliterators kill 4 Gaunts, the Pariahs kill 5 Terminators and the Raveners kill 2 Beserkers. The Beserkers in turn kill a Hormagaunt.
Turn 5: Chaos turn the Obliterators kill 2 Necron Warriors. In assault the Nightbringer kills Abaddon the Despoiler, the Raveners kill 2 Beserkers and the Beserkers kill 3 Hormagaunts. The Obliterators kill 3 Gaunts.
Necrons & Nids turn the Monolith kills 2 Marines and the Immortals kill a Obliterator. In assault the Raveners kill a Beserker and so do the Hormaguants. The Beserkers kill a Hormagaunt and the Flayed Ones kill 2 Marines.
Since I just discovered that you are supposed to roll after the 5th turn now to see if you fight on or if the game ends we rolled a 2 so the game ended. The final verdict was that the Chaos won holding 2 objectives in the end whereas the Necrons and Tyranids only held one objective in the end.
Ok, this weekend I played a rather long 4 way game. It was my Chaos vs. Ultramarines vs. Necrons vs. Tyranids. This is the army list I used for that game. Tomorrow I will follow up with the battle report.

Now some of you might argue with the total but don't forget the Champions were all a free upgrade according to the rulebook. Stayed tuned for that battle report and of course some pictures.
Turn 1: The Tyranids and the Necrons start off and a Biovore frag mine takes out a guardsmen. The Carnifax destroys a sentinel.
The Imperial guard and Ultramarine turn: the guardsmen take out 4 hormagaunts, the veterans take out 3 genestealers and the Commissar kills another Hormagaunt. The sentinels take out 2 more Hormagaunts too and the Leman Russ takes out 7 more. The Land Raider takes out 3 scarabs and so does the Razorback.
Turn 2: Nids and Necrons turn the Lictors deepstrike in and the heavy destroyers take out the Land Raider. In assault the Genestealers kill 4 guardsmen and the Lictors force the Ogryns to run.
The IG and SM turn the Leman Russ takes out 3 Hormagaunts, so do the sentinels, and the Basilisk only takes out 1. The heavy weapons squad takes out 3 more hormaguants too. The dreadnought kills 4 Necron warriors and the land speeder takes out a heavy destroyer. In assualt the Rough riders take out 2 genestealers and in turn the genestealers take out a guardsmen and force them to break. Another squad of genestealers kill another guardsmen and overtakes the squad.
Turn 3: The Nids and Necrons turn the Biovore frag mine takes out a rough rider. The destroyers take out 2 Land speeders. In assault the genestealers kill 3 guardsmen and the Carnifax kills a rough rider. The hormagaunts take out 2 guardsmen and their Sergeant kills 2 hormagaunts in return. Then they are forced to flee and are overtaken (man that roll turned in my favor he never fails morale rolls).
The IG and SM turn the only thing is the Veteran SM squad kills a biovore. In assault the genestealers kill an IG veteran and so does the Broodlord and they force them to break. The Carnifax kills 2 rough riders and the genestealers kill a guardsmen. Marneus kills 3 Necron Warriors and the dreadnought kills a flayed one. The Raveners kill 3 guardsmen and force them to break.
Turn 4: In the Nids and Necrons turn the Monolith deepstrikes in and kills 10 guardsmen (I hate that weapon). In assault the lictors kill an ogryn and the genestealers wipe out the command squad. The raveners kill 2 guardsmen and the genestealers kill 4 more guardsmen. Marneus kills a Wraith, the dreadnought kills a flayed one and a flayed one take out the master commander in return.
The IG and SM turn the Tactical squad kills 4 flayed ones and the whirlwind takes out a tyranid warrior. In assault the commissar takes out a genestealer, the carnifax kills a rough rider and the raveners kill a guardsmen. Marneus kills 2 necron warriors and the tactical squad kills 2 pariahs. The genestealers kill 2 IG veterans and the Broodlord kills the sergeant.
Turn 5: In the Nids and Necrons turn the Hive Tyrant destroys a sentinel and the necron warriors that popped out of the monolith kills 6 guardsmen. The destroyers take out a dreadnought. In assault the genestealers kill the commissar and the Carnifax kills 2 rough riders. The raveners kill a guardsmen and in turn they take out a ravener. The Necron warriors kill 3 guardsmen.
The IG and SM turn the Basilisk takes out 3 Necron warriors. The in assault the genestealers kill a guardsmen and the raveners kill 2 more. The ogrns kill a lictor and force them to break (another lucky roll on my part).
Turn 6: In the Nids and Necrons turn the necron warriors destroy the Basilisk and the Hive Tyrant destroys the Demolisher. In assault the Lictors take out an ogryn, the carnifax and ravener each take out a rough rider. The genestealers kill 2 heavy weapons and the necron warriors kill 2 guardsmen. Another squad of genestealers kill 4 guardsmen and overtake the rest and the Nightbringer kills Marneus.
Results: We decided to forfeit the IG and SM turn and call it a draw because we each had an objective.
Since I forgot to post my 2 newest editions to my Tau army that I received as Xmas presents, here they are in all their glory. Unfortunately they did better last week against the Tyranids than what they did against the Necrons yesterday. Enjoy. I know I had fun painting them.
This was a 2800 point game but I couldn't manage to make that so I turned out being 2400 points so my enemy had a 400 something points up on me. I combined the Alpha and the Gamma rules so we could use the Deepstrike rules.
Turn 1: The Tau go first and nothing to note happens beside movement.
The Necron Destroyers happen to kill 4 Fire Warriors.
Turn 2: Another Tau turn goes uneventful.
Necrons- The Destroyers and the Immortals kill 9 Fire Warriors and the Pariahs kill 6 Kroot
Turn 3: The Gun Drones deepstrike in on the Tau turn.
Necrons- The Monolith deepstrikes in and kills 4 Stealth units, 3 Gun Drones, 5 Auxillary troops, 1 Kroot, the Krootox and a Kroot Hound. The Pariahs finish off the rest of the Kroot killing the Kroot Hound and the Kroot Shaper. The Warriors kill 2 Gun drones, the Immortals wipe out a full squad of Auxillary troops, and the Heavy destroyers destroy the Devil Fish. In Assault the Wraiths kill 3 Gun drones.
Turn 4: The Crisis Suits deepstrike in and take out a Warrior and the Hammerhead kills a Destroyer.
Necrons- The Flayed Ones deepstrike in. The Heavy Destroyers take out the Hammerhead, the Immortals wipe out the Sniper Drones and the Drone controller. The Warriors kill a Stealth Unit, the Monolith kills 8 more Auxilliary troops and 2 Stealth members. In Assault the Flayed Ones kill 5 Fire Warriors and force the rest to break.
Turn 5: Commander Shadowsun deepstrikes in and takes 2 wounds from the Nightbringer. The Auxilliary troops kill a Flayed One, the Pathfinders kill 2 Destroyers and the Sky Ray kills 2 Heavy Destroyers.
Necrons- The Monolith takes out 1 of Commander Shadowsun's drones. Then in assault the Wraiths take out the Commanders second drone and the Flayed ones kill 5 Auxilliary troops and force the rest to break.
Turn 6: The Sky Ray takes out an Immortal.
Necrons: Immortals take out the Sky Ray. Then in assault the Flayed Ones kill 7 Auxilliary troops and the Wraiths take out Commander Shadowsun.
The Final verdict here was that the Necrons occupied 2 quarters at the end and the Tau had 0. I bought a brand new camera and these photos are excellent. The first camera was ok and the cell phone worked for a bit but here we go.
Seek and Destroy
Ok readers here is the last installment of our 2 on
2 battles. Unfortunately we probably will not be gaming again until
sometime after the New Year now because we want to bulk up our armies
and have a 1 on 1 tournament this time around. So without further ado
here is the play by play for this mission.
Turn 1-Space Marines and Eldar take the first turn as the SM heavy weapons squad kills 3 scarab bases.
Necrons
and Tyranids turn the Destroyers kill 3 Devastators and the Pariahs
wipe out the other 2. The monolith destroys a dreadnought.
Turn
2-On the SM and Eldar turn the Dark Reapers kill a genestealer and a
Gaunt. The space marines deep strike in the assault marines and they
kill an immortal. Then in the assault phase the Space Marines kill
another immortal.
Then the Necrons and Tyranids the Raveners
deepstrike in and so do the Flayed ones. The Tyranid warriors kill 2
Dire Avengers. In assault the genestealers kill 2 Dire Avengers and
they break, also the Raveners take out a Fire Dragon. The immortals
kill 2 assault marines and the assault marines in turn kill 2 immortals.
Turn
3-The SM and Eldar Snipers kill a genestealer and the Land Raider kills
a wraith. The Avatar kill a genestealer and the wraithlord kills 2
more. The Dark Reapers kill 2 Gaunts. In assault the Avatar kills 2
genestealers and the assault marines take out an immortal. Marneus
Calgar kills 2 Pariahs and the regular marines kill a flayed one.
Then
on the Necron and Tyranid turn a spore mine kills a Dire Avenger as
well as a Ranger. The Zoanthrope uses Warp blast to kill 4 Dire
Avengers and the Hormagaunts kill 3 Dark Reapers. The Raveners kill a
Fire Dragon and in turn the Dragons kill both of the Raveners. The
Avatar also kills 2 genestealers.
Turn 4-The SM and Eldar
Wraithlord, Vyper and Fire Dragons all kill a total of 12 Gaunts
together. The Harlequins kill all 3 Lictors and the Land Raider
destroys the Monolith. The Dark Reapers kill 4 Gaunts. Then in
assault phase the Striking Scorpions kill a Hormagaunt and so do the
Dark Reapers. The Avatar kills the Broodlord and Marneus kills 2
Wraiths. The assault marines also kill an immortal.
On the Necrons
and Tyranids turn the Nightbringer destroys the Rhino and the Tyranid
warriors kill 2 Harlequins. The Biovore kills a Dark Reaper and a
Harlequin with a spore mine. In assault phase the Avatar kills 2
genestealers and the Dark Reapers kill a Hormagaunt. The rest of the
immortals kill an assault marine.
Turn 5-On the SM and Eldar
turn the Swooping Hawks deepstrike in and then between them, the
Wraithlord and the Vyper they kill 6 Gaunts. The Wave Serpent kills
the Zoanthrope. In assault phase the Swooping Hawks kill the last
remaining Gaunts, the Avatar kills a hormagaunt and so does the Dark
Reapers. The Striking Scorpions also kill a Hormagaunt and the SM
Sergeant kills a Flayed One.
On the Necrons and Tyranid turn the
Warriors kill 3 Harlequins and the Biovore kills another one with a
spore mine. In assault the Carnifax kills 2 Swooping Hawks and the
Hive Tyrant kills 3 more. The Hormagaunts kill a Dark Reaper and a
Striking Scorpion. The Nightbringer kills 2 Veteran Marines and
Marneus kills 2 Necron Warriors.
Turn 6-The Space Marine and
Eldar Rangers kill a Biovore. In Assault the Harlequins kill a Tyranid
Warrior and the Avatar kills 2 Hormagaunts. The Striking Scorpions
also kill a Hormagaunt but then the Hormagaunts kill 3 on the
Scorpions. The Space Marines kill a Flayed One.
Then finally on the
Necrons and Tyranids turn they go right into assault as the Tyranid
Warriors kill a Harlequin and the Hive Tyrant kills a Swooping Hawk.
The Wraithlord in turn kills the Hive Tyrant and the Hormagaunts kill a
Scorpion as well as a Hawk. Then of course the Scorpions kill 5
Hormagaunts.
Conclusion-Since it was a Seek and destroy mission
and by the time the end of the game there were still miniatures on the
table we had to go by victory points.
SM and Eldar take 2191 pts
Nids and Necrons take 1826pts
Turn 1: The Necrons and the Tyranids turn goes uneventful.
The Eldar and Space Marines turn I park my Wave Serpent next to the objective (that Bunker in the picture above) and unload my Dire Avengers. The SM Razorback takes out 6 gaunts.
Turn 2: The Necrons and Tyranids attack and the Monolith kills a Fire Dragon and the Nightbringer takes out a Dire Avenger.
In the Eldar and SM turn my Dark Reapers take out 3 scarab bases while the SM Devestators, Dreadnought and Razorback all take out 12 Gaunts. The Veteran squad takes out a Genestealer.
Turn 3: The Necrons and Tyranids attack and the Destroyers take out the Vyper and the Hive Tyrant kills a SM Devestator. In assualt the Flayed ones (who deepstriked early I just forgot to mention it) take out 3 Dire Avengers. The Lictor kills a SM and Marneus kills a Genestealer.
The Eldar and SM turn my Fire Dragon Exarch takes out a Pariah and the SM Dreadnoughts take out 8 Genestealers. In assault the Harlequin Troupe Master and the Striking Scorpions Exarch each kill a Flayed One and the SM Dreadnought kills a Lictor.
Turn 4: The Necrons and Tyranids turn the Monolith kills 3 Dire Avengers and the Immortals take out a Fire Dragon. In assault the Wraiths kill 7 Harlequins.
In the Eldar and SM turn my Pathfinders take out 2 Scarab bases. The SM Dreadnought takes out the Carnifax, the Land Raider takes out the Hive Tyrant and the Land Speeders take out a full squad of Tyranid Warriors (3).
Turn 5: In the Necrons and Tyranids turn the Destroyers wipe out the Wave Serpent. A spore mine kills a Veteran Marine and the Immortals take out the Wraithlord. In assault the Nightbringer takes out the Striking Scorpions Exarch and the Lictor kills a space marine.
Then in the Eldar and SM turn the Razorback kills a Biovore and the Assault Marines shoot down 6 Hormagaunts. In assault the Nightbringer kills a Striking Scorpion and a Wraith kills a Harlequin. The space marines take out another Lictor.
Turn 6: The Necrons and the Tyranids Heavy Destroyers take out 2 Dire Avengers. In assault the Nightbringer kills 2 Striking Scorpions and the Immortals kill a Swooping Hawk.
On the Eldar and SM turn we decided to end it because we wouldn't have been able to take out the troops they had near the bunker so we called it a tie because we also had troops near the bunker.
So the final verdict was that we called a tie and set up the tie breaker for next week at another Seek and Destroy! Wish me luck.

The Land raider kills 4 Gaunts and Marneus kills 2 more. The heavy weapons marines squad kills 2 Necron Warriors and the Whirlwind takes out 8 gaunts as well.
Then for the Necrons and Tyranids; the immortals kill 4 marines and the heavy destroyers take out a land speeder.
Turn 3: The SM and Eldar; the Wraithlord and the Dark Reapers kill 4 genestealers and the path finders kill 3 hormagaunts. The assault marines destroy the Monolith. In the assault phase the flayed ones kill 2 Fire Dragons.
In the Nids and Necrons turns the Necron lord fires the Solar pulse to shed some light into the night and the Raveners deepstrike in. In assault the Raveners kill 4 Harlequins and manage to over take the rest after they fail thier leadership test. The hormagaunts kill 3 Swooping Hawks and so does the Hive Tyrant.
Turn 4: The Dark Reapers kill 2 genestealers and the Vyper kills the Broodlord. Then in assault the Hive Tyrant kills 2 swooping hawks and so does the hormagaunts. Marneus kills 3 gaunts.
In the Nids and Necrons turns the heavy destroyers take out the Dreadnought and the Zoanthrope kills a Dark reaper. Then in assault the Lictor kills a Dire Avenger and the Flayed Ones kill a fire dragon. Marneus kills 2 gaunts and the Wraiths kill a swooping hawk.
Turn 5: The space marines and eldar decide to go right into assault phase where the Avatar takes out the Lictor and the Wraithlord takes out the Zoanthrope. Marneus takes out the Tyranid warriors.
Then the Tyranids and the Necrons also go right into assault as the Hive Tyrant kills a swooping hawk and the fire dragons kill the last flayed one.
Turn 6: We decided to end it early because this last turn wouldn't have really made a difference and it would have ended up a tie either which way.
So the final score would be that neither team won and the game ended in a tie. Well until next time.
I know it's been awhile but we were finally able to get together after a very crazy summer at my job to game. Since this mission used both types (alpha and omega) we rolled to see if we also got the from dusk till dawn scenario. So here goes, it was an interesting battle.
Turn 1: The Necrons and the Tyranids take the first turn. The only thing they did was that the Carnifax killed a Striking Scorpion.
The Space Marines and Eldar turn the Wave Serpent and the Dark Reapers kill 4 Termagants (or Gaunts). The Space Marines Dreadnought kills a Genestealer and the Land Raider kills a Scarab base.
Turn 2: The Necrons and the Nids have an uneventful turn.
The SM and the Eldar and the Assault marines deepstrike in while the Dark Reapers kill 7 Gaunts and so does the Whirlwind tank. the Dreadnoughts kill 4 genestealers. In assault Marneus Calgar kills a Tyranid Warrior then that Warrior kills one of his bodyguards.
Turn 3: The Flayed ones and a Lictor deepstrike in. The Monolith annihilates a Vyper and kills a Hormagaunt, and a Lictor in the explosion. Then in assault the Flayed ones kill 2 Reapers. The Hormagaunts kill 3 Scorpions.
The Land speeders deepstrikes in and so do the Swooping Hawks. The Wraithlord and the Fire Dragons kill 4 Immortals, the heavy space marines kill 3 Necron warriors, the land raider kills 2 heavy destroyers and the Land Speeders take out a Biovore. In assault the Hawks and Scorpions kill 6 Hormagaunts and the Flayed ones kill 2 Reapers.
The Tactical squad kills 6 Termagants and then in assault the Avatar kills a Termagant and the Wraithlord kills an Immortal. The Scorpions kill another Hormagaunt and the assault marines kill the Carnifax.
Turn 5: Once again the Tyranids and the Necrons decide to opt to go right into assault phase and the Avatar ends up killing the last Termagant while the Scorpions kill another Hormagaunt.
The Tactical squad kills 3 Necron Warriors, the Whirlwind also kills 1 and the Fire Dragons immobolize the Monolith. The Rangers kill a Biovore and then in assault the Dreadnought destroys the Monolith. The Raveners kill a Scorpion.
Turn 6: Straight into assault again the Scorpions kill the rest of the Hormagaunts and the Lictor kills 2 Dragons.
The Land Speeders kill 2 Frag spore mines. The Dreadnought kills a Lictor and the other Dreadnought kills a Necron Warrior. Then in assault the Lictor kills a Dragon, the Wraiths kill a Hawk then the Hawks kill a Pariah. Marneus kills all 3 Wraiths and Nightbringer kills the Wraithlord.
The Final results were that since it was sort of like the objective in the Meat Grinder mission which was total annihilation it turned out that we, I mean the Space Marines and the Eldar win this mission. Until next time.
