First fellow gamers I have those pictures of my newly repainted models to show everyone.
Well I think I am in for a busy fall this year. Since there isn't going to be any school for me anymore I can spend some significant amount of time working on a table. My brother has some weird idea about a folding table that all of our squares that make up the table will fit into for easy storage. Being as skeptical as I am we will see what happens but I want to make sure that I am not the only one funding this little project first. So now not only will I be repainting my Tau now, trying to collect more, actually playing, but now we want to make this new table as well. Personally I think we should clean out the basement first but that's probably just me. I will continue to keep you all posted on things as they happen and I will be taking pictures of this new table and my newly repainted Tau before and after.
Until next time...
I decided a couple days ago that the best course of action to helping me figure out what will be the newest edition to my Tau army was to post on my Forums that I belong to. I posted a poll on the Astro site and a lot of people are saying go for the Fire Warriors because I just simply don't have enough but others are saying go for the Kroot. Then on the My Battalion site they are basically telling me the same thing that I don't have enough Fire Warriors. I know some of these players are younglings but others are hardened veterans like me that have been playing awhile some longer than me too.
So, the conclusion I have reached is to get one or two boxes of Fire Warriors the next time I have money. I don't like painting the Kroot so I won't buy anymore, however, I may need a bigger case for my guys soon. Till next time.
Well, I have decided to repaint my Tau into another color scheme. The color scheme I chose is the White and Black from Commander Shadowsun. Now the Vespids and the Kroot will remain the same but everything else will get changed into this color scheme. Mostly because I decided I didn't like the camo colors anymore because I have enough IG to paint with thier camo colors without worrying about the Tau too. I might repaint other minis in my arsenal too but I will be focusing on repainting the Tau and most likely purchasing more of them as well over the next couple of months or so.
Until next time...
Since I forgot to post my 2 newest editions to my Tau army that I received as Xmas presents, here they are in all their glory. Unfortunately they did better last week against the Tyranids than what they did against the Necrons yesterday. Enjoy. I know I had fun painting them.
This was a 2800 point game but I couldn't manage to make that so I turned out being 2400 points so my enemy had a 400 something points up on me. I combined the Alpha and the Gamma rules so we could use the Deepstrike rules.
Turn 1: The Tau go first and nothing to note happens beside movement.
The Necron Destroyers happen to kill 4 Fire Warriors.
Turn 2: Another Tau turn goes uneventful.
Necrons- The Destroyers and the Immortals kill 9 Fire Warriors and the Pariahs kill 6 Kroot
Turn 3: The Gun Drones deepstrike in on the Tau turn.
Necrons- The Monolith deepstrikes in and kills 4 Stealth units, 3 Gun Drones, 5 Auxillary troops, 1 Kroot, the Krootox and a Kroot Hound. The Pariahs finish off the rest of the Kroot killing the Kroot Hound and the Kroot Shaper. The Warriors kill 2 Gun drones, the Immortals wipe out a full squad of Auxillary troops, and the Heavy destroyers destroy the Devil Fish. In Assault the Wraiths kill 3 Gun drones.
Turn 4: The Crisis Suits deepstrike in and take out a Warrior and the Hammerhead kills a Destroyer.
Necrons- The Flayed Ones deepstrike in. The Heavy Destroyers take out the Hammerhead, the Immortals wipe out the Sniper Drones and the Drone controller. The Warriors kill a Stealth Unit, the Monolith kills 8 more Auxilliary troops and 2 Stealth members. In Assault the Flayed Ones kill 5 Fire Warriors and force the rest to break.
Turn 5: Commander Shadowsun deepstrikes in and takes 2 wounds from the Nightbringer. The Auxilliary troops kill a Flayed One, the Pathfinders kill 2 Destroyers and the Sky Ray kills 2 Heavy Destroyers.
Necrons- The Monolith takes out 1 of Commander Shadowsun's drones. Then in assault the Wraiths take out the Commanders second drone and the Flayed ones kill 5 Auxilliary troops and force the rest to break.
Turn 6: The Sky Ray takes out an Immortal.
Necrons: Immortals take out the Sky Ray. Then in assault the Flayed Ones kill 7 Auxilliary troops and the Wraiths take out Commander Shadowsun.
The Final verdict here was that the Necrons occupied 2 quarters at the end and the Tau had 0. I bought a brand new camera and these photos are excellent. The first camera was ok and the cell phone worked for a bit but here we go.
I apologize for the lack of pictures here but my digital camera died a few weeks ago.
Tau vs. Tyranids (2500 pts)
The Mission was a Recon with Gamma rules
Turn 1: The Tau go first and the Sniper Drones kill a genestealer and the Sky Ray marks the Gaunts
Tyranids: A frag mine takes out the Krootox
Turn 2: The Tau turn and the Gun Drones deepstrike in. The Sniper drones kill a genestealer and the Aux squad kills Gaunt. The Sky Ray kills 7 Gaunts and so does the Stealth Team. Then the Devil Fish takes out 3 more Gaunts from another squad and the Hammer Head takes out 4 more. The Gun Drones kill 5 Hormagaunts.
Tyranids: The Lictors deepstrike in. A Bio acid mine takes out the Devil Fish and 6 Pathfinders survive the blast. The Hive Tyrant kills a human. Then in the Assault phase the Hormagaunts kill 5 Gun drones and the Lictors take out 3 Stealth members and force the rest to run away.
Turn 3: The Tau Vespids kill a genestealer and the Sky Ray kills 8 gaunts. Then 2 squads of Fire Warriors take out all 3 Lictors and the Kroot kill 4 genestealers. In assault phase the Hormagaunts wipe out the last 3 Gun drones.
Tyranids: A frag mine kills a Kroot and the Hive Tyrant kills a human. The Zoanthrope kills a Sniper drone. Then in assault the Hive Tyrant kills 3 humans and so do the Raveners. The Genestealers kill 5 Kroot.
Turn 4: The Crisis suits deepstrike in and kill 3 gaunts and one Tyranid warrior. The Fire warriors kill 4 Hormaguants. Then in assault phase the genestealers kill 2 Vespids and force the last one to run. The Hive Tyrant kills 3 humans and so do the Raveners then in turn the humans take out a Ravener. The Genestealers kill 5 Kroot, force them to run and over takes the rest of the squad.
Tyranids: The Warriors take out a Crisis suit then in assault the genestealers take out the last Vespid, the Ravener kills a human and the Hive Tyrant kills 2 more. The gaunts kill a Pathfinder, the genestealers kill one then the Carnifax kills 3 too.
Turn 5: Commander Shadowsun deepstrikes in and the Auxillary squad kills a Zoanthrope and so does the Sky Ray. In assault the Raveners kill a human and the Warriors take out a Crisis Suit. The Hormagaunts take out a Fire warrior and the Genestealers take out a Pathfinder.
Tyranids: A Frag mine kills a Fire Warrior and then in assault the Hive Tyrant kills 2 humans and the warriors kill the Crisis Shasvre. Commander Shadowsun takes out a genestealer and the Hormagaunts take out 5 Fire warriors, force them to break and over take them. The Carnifax kills the last Pathfinder.
Turn 6: The Fire Warriors kill 3 Hormagaunts and the Hammer head kills a Biovore. In assault the genestealers kill Commander Shadowsun and the Ravener kills 2 humans.
Tyranids: Skipping to assault the Hive Tyrant kills 2 humans, the genestealers kill a Stealth unit and the Hormagaunts kill 2 Fire Warriors. In turn a Fire Warrior kills a Hormagaunt.
The verdict here was that the Tyranids almost wiped every model out of mine besides the Hammer head, the Sky Ray, a squad of Fire Warriors, a half a squad of human auxillarys, and 2 Sniper drones and the controller.

Happy Holidays to my readers and hopefully everyone has a good New Year's too. I have decided to start posting other topics besides Battle reports of mine and my brothers games. I thought I would share what my wish list was for the holiday and to mention that Games Workshop had a contest this year about sending them wish lists and possibly winning up to a $100 dollar item. Of course I didn't win but congratulations to those that did. So without further ado here it is:
- Codex: Chaos Deamons
- Warhammer 40,000 Expansion: Apocalypse
- Water Effects
- WH40K: Imperial Sector (a terrain piece)

Fellow gamers I played the most interesting scenario yesterday. I found it in White Dwarf No. 251 (It's a good thing I keep my back issues). It was originally meant for a total free for all, but since we were teaching a new player we decided on a 2 on 2 battle. It was my youngest brother Jeff as the Tyranids teamed up with his friend Paul (the newbie) as the Necrons versus me as the Tau teamed up with my other brother Brian as the Ultramarines. Our objective was the pyramid in the center of the table and as far as special rules we kept infiltrators and random game length but threw out Night fighting. The scenario was set at 1400 points. It was called Carnage and the objective was a simple one: to have the closest model to the objective when the game ends. Your mission is to get to the center of the board, claim the objective and stay on it at all costs. Whoever has the closest model to the objective when the game finishes is the victor. The battle was pretty intense and by the end the Tyranids and the Necrons won. For those interested in playing this scenario is on page 101. You can view all the photos in the photos section of my blog.
